South Karelian Foundation for Recreation Areas

The diverse nature of South Karelia provides opportunities for both leisure and recreation. The accessibility to natural destinations has been facilitated by the South Karelian Foundation for Recreation Areas, who possess a number of excursion harbours and recreational spots in lake areas, as well as hiking trails, lean-to shelters and bird-watching sites in various locations throughout the province. The task of the South Karelian Foundation for Recreation Areas is also to inform visitors of the hiking possibilities. The foundation’s activities are financed by the municipalities of South Karelia.
